Malaysia's Bandar Penawar Deepwater Port Jetty and Utility Tunnel Project
Total steel usage: 12,000 tons
Project Overview: This project is the second-phase offshore oil pipeline corridor for the Bandar Penang Deepwater Port. It adheres to U.S. welding standards and comprises 430 modules divided into 10 batches. The project demands high installation accuracy; even under severe sea conditions with strong winds and waves, 5-meter-by-23-meter modules were lifted into place in a single operation. The project employs the world’s most advanced measures to prevent seawater corrosion, ensuring corrosion resistance in marine chloride environments for up to 15 years. The Bandar Penang Deepwater Port project in Malaysia is one of the key projects under the Malaysian government’s Economic Transformation Program and also serves as an important stop along China’s “Belt and Road” initiative. The construction and operation of the Bandar Penang Deepwater Port hold significant and far-reaching implications for the economic development and commercial cooperation between China and Malaysia. The project has received high praise from the client, who awarded our company an honorary plaque.
